“...and generally acted like a completely insane person—which, as a popular pro wrestler, he almost certainly is.” There would be so little wrestling “news” if people recognized this and moved on with their lives!
Did the locker room really get along “splendidly”? It seems like Cody Rhodes, who was arguably the biggest star in AEW upon his departure, would disagree. Still, solid work as always, Jonathan. Proud to subscribe and to get your takes.
All I know is this has really put a damper on the whole thing.
Punk showed up, people were excited, then things went to shit. Now he hasn't been around and things have been mostly fine. I dunno, sometimes you're just not a fit and that's OK.
AEW was successful before CM Punk and have shown they will continue to be successful after him. I won't deny Punk's skill or how incredible he was for the majority of his year in the promotion but he was the cherry on the ice cream sundae and an ice cream sundae without a cherry is still pretty damn good. Must really get up in his craw to know that is the case too.
I absolutely agree with you, as you wrote The Elite should not be cornered or coerced into wrestling someone they don't trust. If they want to do it then it could be great but if they don't we should respect that choice.

I mostly just blame FTR bald
"Your opinion about ratings and what draws casuals and who can fill up a stadium or sell a pay-per-view is less than worthless."
This times Infinity.
That works both ways
Brooks HAS TO tell his sock puppet Harwood to STFU.
I've no idea why Omega is constantly presented as the bad guy here

I didn't get the sense that there was conflict between Cody and the locker room. Definitely major conceptual disagreements with Tony Khan.
Great shit. I wish I could enjoy AEW without having to think about this carny bullshit. Shit or get off the pot.

OUTSTANDING writing! Great job!
Amen.

I thought it was cool when CM Punk showed up. I am not against it. But I don't know that it should be up to me.

Well, sounds like we're in total agreement. Thanks for reading.
🤣 interesting approach combining “Yo stfu!” with “Pledge Your Support” 👍
I don't know why it's doing that. I haven't set up any paid options. 😕
