I'm not going to lie and say I've been a fan of The Briscoes for years, I'm a lapsed fan who's come back to wrestling over the past 7 years or so. I'm not going to say that I've watched every one of The Briscoes' matches - I've enjoyed the ones I have seen and loved their style. On the other hand, I am going to say I've had tears in my eyes a few times today whenever I've watched videos or read articles about people saying nice things about Jay. He sounds like he was a good dude behind the scenes and one who has done his best to atone for some of the mistakes he made in his past. He was also a year younger than me and a leaving a family behind who will miss him dearly. It's such a terrible loss. RIP Jay Briscoe.

Like you, I was a lapsed fan for a long time. I had seen the first part of the Briscoes career, but other things I had the pleasure of watching long after the fact. It was all new to me.

It was pretty incredible to see just how those two wild boys from Delaware had improved their craft and become as good as anyone in the sport. It was fun to see the wider world discover them to some extent last year as well.

Such a loss for all of us. Thoughts and prayers to his family in this dark time.

I had the fortune of having a journalist friend write the personal story of my dad's character and life when he passed last year. You've similarly done a beautiful job of eulogizing someone most of us only know from TV. RIP Jay Briscoe.

An absolutely beautiful piece of writing encapsulating what so many of us are feeling right now. Thank you for this.

Thanks for your feedback.

I thought I was immune to it, having seen so many wrestling tragedies. But this one hit hard.
