Welcome to The Territories!

A Shared World Story Collection Edited by Jonathan Snowden and Chad Dundas
2

Well, the day has finally come. After holding this secret close to my chest for more than two years, it’s time to tell the world—Chad Dundas and I have once again combined forces, like the world’s weakest Voltron, to create something I think is pretty special.

More than a thing, or a project, or (yuck) content, we’ve built a world. Yes, you heard me right. An entire planet, contained only in our minds and the imaginations of nine incredibly talented collaborators.

Welcome to The Territories, a shared universe focused on the professional wrestling of the 1980s. Set in a funhouse mirror of our own world, our book leaps right into the madness of professional wrestling, presenting the business the way we liked it—wild, unruly and a little unhinged.

The inspiration here comes from the fertile mind of George R.R. Martin. Long before he’d ever conceived of a fractured world unable to come together long enough to face an endless winter, Martin and his friends created their own universe of comic book style characters called “Wild Cards.” For long-time comics readers, these tales felt familiar but distinct, and a loyal fanbase followed along as creators took these characters and breathed life into what might otherwise have been just print on paper.

We hope to do the same here.

Featuring a novella by Chad Dundas, this inaugural volume of stories serves as the jumping off point for our own shared world universe and introduces some of the characters we'll follow into a very uncertain future. Like what you read about Mack Savage, Buddy Jacobs and Doomsday? Well, there’s much more to come.

The book is complete and at the printer. The hardcover should be ready to ship by mid-August. The ebook, of course, is available immediately on release day. We’d love to have you join us on this journey.
