Every year New Japan Pro Wrestling brings 20 of the world's top wrestlers together, divides them into two blocks of ten a piece, and then unleashes carnage in a round robin tournament. The winner of A Block faces the winner of B block for an opportunity to compete for the IWGP championship at the biggest show of the year.
The tournament can be overwhelming—both for the wrestlers, forced to endure nine fast-paced hard hitting bouts in the span of a few weeks, and for fans, who struggle to find the time to watch what are essentially 18 pay-per-view caliber shows in a single calendar month.
We're here to help.
Kristina and Jonathan Snowden are watching every second of each show and curating the experience for you. We'll pick out the matches that are "Must See", the ones that are merely "Nice to See." We'll also identify the matches you can straight up skip if you don't have a completist bone in your body. Best of all, we won't spoil the results so you can watch the matches spoiler free.
Along the way, we'll help provide context and walk you through the month step by step. Interested in seeing what the G-1 Climax is all about? Join us won't you?
